[He furrows his brow as he finally looks at Tyr. Good? It doesn't justify their deaths in any manner.]

Four of the listed victims were shown. The first, Mr. Barnaby, appeared to be relaxing. The quality made it difficult to tell if he was alive as he wasn't moving. But it was shortly after that the water was shown to be completely frozen.

[He pauses.]

He was in the ice with blood from his head frozen as well.

[ It made Ion speaking about this easier. There was nothing to do for the victims now.

Given Ion's ease of relaying what he saw, it was a good thing he didn't have any personal connections. Not that the frank description didn't make Tyr grimace. ]

Frozen?

[What else is supposed to be done? He's just doing as Tyr asked of him and panicking isn't going to help.]

There was blood shed with each shown death save for one. It appeared that possibly her... neck was snapped.

I see...

[ He feels sick hearing that. Blood, frozen bodies, and a snapped neck. His fingers clenched in the fabric of his pants. ]

...This still doesn't seem real...

[He doesn't say anymore beyond that and merely nods like before. It certainly isn't normal. There is so much going through his mind but it's late. Tyr doesn't need all of that at this hour.]

[ So they end up sitting in silence for a while before Tyr gets up and finishes making the tea without a word. Two cups for both of them, just black tea with some sugar. He hands Ion his cup before sitting back down. ]

[fontastically]

[Like Tyr had prepared it for when Ion was ill, Ion notes. Such a thought somewhat puts him at ease but he doesn't sip the tea right away.]

I should have contacted you later.

[third_liberator]

[ In a way, he feels like Ion needs help now just as he had then. His comment, though, only makes Tyr shakes his head. ]

No... I'm glad you told me about this now. I wouldn't want to leave you to think on this alone anyway...

[He sips his tea, finally.]

The both of us thinking on it at this hour isn't going to do you any favours, either.

[ Tyr keeps holding his cup just to enjoy the warmth. He hasn't even realized that he forgot to cover his hands; they have more important things to focus on. ]

It's a good a time as ever to think about it, though...

I have to wonder why is it...that they were killed.

[He lowers his cup after a moment.]

[ He looks down at his tea, his voice turning softer. ]

There are a lot of reasons someone might do this...but all at once like this, it can't be natural.

Maybe they knew something. Or it's another experiment.

[Ion looks down at his own tea.]

It's cruel.

[ Tyr glances over at Ion. He wishes he could do something, but he knows that's not possible. ]

This is too far for an experiment, but... [ It's just as possible as them being murdered to make a point, because they knew something they shouldn't. ]

...What kind of person is the landlord anyway?

[fontastically]

I can't say that the Lessor is even a person.

[third_liberator]

[ With that, he looks at Ion fully. ]

What do you mean?

[fontastically]

[He keeps his head down for now.]

The Lessor may be more than one person or something different entirely.

[third_liberator]

[ Tyr sighs and finally takes a drink of his tea though he hardly tastes it. ]

That's possible... We don't know what he looks like, sounds like... He really might not be human at all.

[ Thinking of this makes him feel sick. How are they supposed to do something if they don't know anything? ]

There isn't any concrete evidence to say what the Lessor is.

[He forces himself to sip his tea again.]

[ Tyr goes ahead and takes another drink himself. ]

...Maybe there's some kind of hint in something he said... We know enough to say he's familiar with Earth and some of its countries.

I can't say that I have seen anything distinguishable of my own home, here. But it doesn't explain how people who aren't from an Earth are present.

[He glances over at Tyr, lowering his cup. It is not completely dark as Tyr had turned on a light for the two of them but there isn't any explanation as to why something hadn't occurred to him. Instead of simply staring, he's going to actually-]

Tyr, you... aren't wearing your gloves.

Earth might just be his favorite place... If there are multiple people involved, it's possible they're from several different worlds...

[ This was becoming a productive conversation until Ion changed the subject. He wasn't...

It connects for him then, Tyr grimacing and turning pale because of his own carelessness. He moves his left hand over his right as he lowers the cup - and his hands- to his lap. ]

...I forgot. [ He'd say sorry, but the only one who deserves that is Ted.

But then, it wasn't as if Ion would recognize the rune. Right, he was overreacting. ]

[He had looked on long enough to feel that he can recall the shape for future use. If anything, he needs to be the one apologising. Ion leans over to set his tea down before he urges himself off the couch. It isn't as though there is any fear but he saw Tyr's face. He knows that the other doesn't want anyone so close to such a thing. But he is going to be quick to get his jacket from where Tyr had hung it up to return and hold it to Tyr.]

It is big for me so it may be the same for you.

[Meaning some cover up for Tyr's hands, right?]</small

[ Seeing Ion stand, Tyr set down his own cup and leaned forward to watch Ion move. That was... Was that it? It looked like Ion was going to leave-

Until he returned with the jacket, and Ion's words made his intentions clear. ]

...

[ He wordlessly took the jacket from Ion and pulled it on, still looking away from Ion. When he stood and took his jacket, he was sure Ion was going to leave. That he couldn't trust Tyr now.

If he didn't feel foolish for worrying about Ion before, he did now. Ion was a true friend. Always honest, always trusting, always respecting him. Thinking of that, he looked back up at the other boy with a softer expression. ]

[He slowly sits himself down by Tyr again, just where he feels he should be.

It would be ridiculous to not think highly over Tyr simply because that he had a secret. Ion is not currently aware of details and even with finally seeing the rune is not enough of a reason to walk away. Tyr hasn't tried to bring any harm on anyone, before, so what is the point of thinking like that? Tyr is only trying to protect something.]

It isn't something you need to thank me for.
