[ Tyr remembered Ted telling him, long ago when he asked, that his hands were scarred, but Tyr wasn't quite as good at keeping up a lie. Besides that, he didn't want to worry Ion even if he was sure he wouldn't press for details.

[ Ion was probably smart enough to piece things together if he chose to research runes, but Tyr trusted him as well. Not enough to remove his other glove and let him see the Rune, but enough to tell him a little more. ]

[He is left to look at a normal looking hand albeit a little pale compared to Tyr's face. It is a relief to know it is not something that is of consequence of injury but... Rune- something secret or mysterious. Ion can't say he understands what a rune is but something that may be greater than his own existence. Something that Tyr isn't going to show him.]
[ Surely Ion didn't want more of an explanation than that. With his hand shown, Tyr went ahead and returned his glove to his left hand. Protecting the Soul Eater. That was his one job now even while he was on this vacation. Even if he might be as dead as Ted and Gremio. As long as the mark was still on his hand, he had to be sure no-one else took its power.
[Ion watches Tyr slip his glove back on before he lifts his head back up. There are certainly many questions that are going through his mind as of now but he knows better than to ask especially with the current state of things. But now Ion has to make a promise.]
[He doesn't bring himself to respond with words. As far as he is concerned, as of right now, he is going to have to do as he has been told. No amount of reassuring means things are absolute but he remembers something that Tyr has done for him and reaches out to lightly touch his shoulder.]
[ It's a nice gesture even if Tyr doesn't think that Ion might be mimicking him. He glances over at Ion before turning his attention to the sea again, staring out at it. ]
[They were friends but that doesn't mean Ion needs to pry into his life. But he isn't about to leave unless asked. No, he is okay with sitting wordlessly on the beach with Tyr.]
